Delta-R GmbH
About us
Delta-R is your partner for temperature sensors.
The company:
Delta-R GmbH trades and manufactures temperature sensors, specializing in fast-response, resistance-based miniature sensors. Founded in Mannheim in 2001 as an owner-managed company, Delta-R GmbH has since operated successfully in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region with a constantly growing team. Customer satisfaction and quality are our top priorities.
Temperature:
Temperature is the most frequently measured physical quantity. Precise temperature monitoring is essential in many industries. When samples spoil in the laboratory, lasers become ineffective, the cold chain for food is inadvertently interrupted, motors overheat, or manufacturing processes go awry – people are affected – and in the worst-case scenario, endangered.
Therefore, we take responsibility for:
• the quality of our products
• advising our customers
• the optimized design of temperature sensors.
Our expertise:
In addition to our high quality standards, individual consultation and a maximum solution-oriented approach are fundamental components of our company philosophy. We offer you manufacturer independence in the trade of sensor elements and our own manufacturing facilities for customer-specific sensors and thermometers. Our range of services is complemented by custom cable assembly. We produce prototypes for you, but also have sufficient capacity for large-scale production. We are your partner from the initial concept to the finished product. Benefit from our expertise in temperature measurement.
Our philosophy:
Our corporate culture is characterized by a strong sense of responsibility – towards you as our customer, the quality of our products, and our employees. We manufacture exclusively in Germany and are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. We also have an EPA area, ensure 100% quality control, and place great emphasis on batch traceability. UL-compliant manufacturing completes our portfolio. Our production facility in Mannheim is certified according to UL standards for wiring harnesses ZPFW.2 and ZPFW.8. This certification guarantees the reliable traceability of individual components: wires, cables, heat shrink tubing, and connectors. Delta-R is listed as a qualified and safe manufacturer in the manufacturer database www.ul.com under file number E543255. Resource conservation: Conserving resources in our company begins with the conscious procurement of environmentally friendly materials and ends with the proper disposal of waste by type.
Industries:
Our customers include renowned global companies in measurement and control technology, medical technology, the laser industry, drive technology (including motorsports), climate control and regulation technology, white goods, as well as appliance manufacturers and research institutions.
Our strengths:
• Expertise: Decades of experience in the temperature industry
• Individual consultation and maximum solution orientation
• Support from concept to series production
• Manufacturer-independent trading of sensor elements
• Large, diverse stock of platinum resistance thermometers
• In-house production of customer-specific sensors and thermometers

Cable sensors with heat shrink tubing insulation
Delta-R expands its portfolio of cable sensors with heat-shrink tubing insulation. With this new range of coiled-head sensors, the temperature sensor specialist Delta-R has expanded its in-house manufacturing portfolio from purely customer-specific temperature sensors to include standard sensors. Cable sensors with heat-shrink tubing insulation, so-called coiled-head sensors, are used in thermal motor protection applications. These temperature sensors with heat-shrink tubing insulation are typically based on a Pt100 or Pt1000 element, which is extended in 2-, 3-, or 4-wire configurations and then insulated with high-voltage heat-shrink tubing. Depending on the required temperature resistance, the sensors are insulated with high-voltage heat-shrink tubing made of Kynar or PTFE. Depending on the voltage rating, the sensors are insulated with single or multiple layers. The required insulation strength determines the insulation length as well as the type and position of the heat-shrink tubing. Typically, the elements are extended with single-core stranded wire in the AWG 20 to AWG 28 range. UL-certified stranded wire is available from stock at Delta-R for many dimensions. The operating temperature range of cable sensors with heat-shrink tubing insulation is between -70°C and +260°C. Various connection techniques are possible. Delta-R prefers micro-welding as a connection method, as it requires no filler material. However, brazing or crimp connections are also possible as mechanical connection methods. Customized Kabelthermometer Made in Germany
Customized cable thermometers made in Germany by Delta-R from Mannheim. More and more sensor manufacturers are producing their cable sensors in subsidiaries in other European, Asian, or Arab countries. The resulting cost savings from lower wages, even before the pandemic and tariffs, came at the expense of delivery speed and flexibility. Significantly increased shipping costs and trade barriers have made domestic manufacturers more attractive. Customers have also shifted their thinking. Reliable supply chains are now considered essential. Local sourcing is trending. Procurement close to home is also preferred for environmental reasons. Increasingly, consumers are asking themselves, not just when it comes to clothing, whether products have to travel halfway around the world before they are finished. Delta-R has consciously chosen to continue manufacturing exclusively in Germany. Customer proximity fosters both speed and flexibility in the production of customized cable thermometers. Due to internationally limited supply chains and the resulting delivery times of sometimes several years, variability in sensor manufacturing has become essential. At Delta-R, this flexibility extends to allowing customers to supply their own raw materials upon request. Coil-wound sensors for electric vehicles
Coil-wound sensors for electric vehicles Delta-R manufactures wound-head temperature sensors for electromobility on behalf of sensor manufacturers for the growing electromobility market. Speed, flexibility, and reliability, combined with the highest quality standards ;Made in Germany; have convinced an increasing number of customers during the pandemic. Wound-head sensors for electromobility are cable thermometers used for temperature monitoring of electric motors and batteries. These cable thermometers are temperature sensors with a cable extension and heat-shrink tubing insulation. These heat-shrink tubing temperature sensors are usually based on a Pt100 or Pt1000 element, which is extended in a 2-, 3-, or 4-wire configuration and then insulated with high-voltage-resistant heat-shrink tubing. Depending on the required temperature resistance, the sensors are insulated with high-voltage-resistant Kynar or PTFE heat-shrink tubing. Depending on the voltage rating, the sensors are insulated with single or multiple layers. The required insulation strength determines the insulation length as well as the type and position of the heat shrink tubing. Typically, the elements are extended with single-core stranded wire in the AWG 20 to AWG 28 range. The operating temperature range of cable sensors with heat shrink tubing insulation is between -70°C and +260°C. Winding-head temperature sensors with a wide variety of connection technologies are available on the market. Delta-R prefers welding as a connection technology because it requires no filler material and is also suitable for small dimensions. However, brazing or crimping connections are also common and possible mechanical connection methods.
