Pepperl+Fuchs – Innovations for the Future of Automation
As one of the leading companies in the automation industry, Pepperl+Fuchs is a global pioneer in its markets due to groundbreaking technologies. For conventional and future applications, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio and at the same time drives trend-setting future developments. Examples of this include application-oriented cloud connectivity solutions and the development of Ethernet in the process industry for Industry 4.0-compliant applications.
At Pepperl+Fuchs, the term Sensorik4.0® stands for innovative, communication-enabled sensors for factory automation. This development has proven useful in many aspects of automation. A prime example is the intelligent communication technology that clears the way for the link between IT and OT. Another application is the portfolio of intrinsically safe smart devices that enable the digitization of service and maintenance in process plants. Other future technologies will likewise be used in almost all branches of automation.

Inductive Distance Sensors with IO-Link
Integrated condition monitoring functions: e.g. continuous monitoring of the speed and acceleration of actuating elements Enables predictive maintenance of shock absorbers, hydraulic cylinders or valves etc. Comprehensive additional data and customizable limits for temperature, operating times, and counters due to IO-Link High measuring speed of up to 3 m/s for the fastest throughput times and increased productivity Developed and manufactured in-house, backed by the longest experience in the market, ensuring first-class consulting expertise and continuous innovation

Ethernet Advanced Physical Layer (Ethernet - APL)
The fastest and most efficient way to continuously communicate large amounts of data from hazardous areas to the cloud Cable length of up to 1,000 m and a transfer rate of 10 Mbit/s Two-wire cable: Data and power are transmitted simultaneously along the same cable Common physical layer for all devices that provides barrier-free communication between the office and the field Access to valuable field device data anytime, anywhere enhances transparency and control Enables analytics based on previously unavailable data for improved plant performance and availability Easy migration and simple, cost-effective plant modernization with automatic detection of fieldbus communication

To help process plants meet the demands of Industry 4.0, our PROFINET gateways use Ethernet-based communication to enable seamless integration of device and process data.
To help process plants meet the demands of Industry 4.0, our PROFINET gateways use Ethernet-based communication to enable seamless integration of device and process data. This advanced technology allows the process industry to take a major step toward networked production. The LB system can be used in Zone 2/Div. 2, while the FB system can be used up to Zone 1. The new gateways feature S2 system redundancy for plants requiring high availability, connecting the Remote I/O station to redundant controllers. In addition users can deploy gateways in ring redundancy.
