The path to efficiency and creativity in design and development begins with data organization.

Classmate CAD analyzes and classifies 3D models and geometry information fully automatically. Models can then be compared geometrically and meaningful difference models can even be calculated at lightning speed. The search for similar geometries can be limited to freely definable sub-areas of CAD models.

This makes it possible, for example, to find matching counterparts, components with the same drilling patterns or models with the same contours but different form elements.

The classmate FINDER tracks down desired components and information across the boundaries of almost all leading CAD, PDM and ERP systems and facilitates further processing. An intuitive user interface allows various combinable search queries: From navigation in the graphically displayed class tree, to searching for specific features, to freely definable similarity searches based on comparative data or sub-areas. The results are displayed in clear lists with 2D and 3D preview images.

During the processing of a model, the "Model Monitor" tool provides information on request about similar parts that are available in the database. The Model Monitor also displays the current manufacturing cost situation and helps the designer to stay within his target cost corridor.

classmate PLAN provides deeper insights into future manufacturing costs: During the design phase, the costs of the following production steps can already be seen. A cost traffic light colors parts and surfaces on the 3D model according to cost intensity. Cost drivers can be quickly identified and alternatives easily compared. This feature simplifies the search for better alternatives as well as make-or-buy decisions.
