Delta-R manufactures highly reliable temperature sensors for electromobility. Delta-R GmbH specializes in the development and production of customized temperature sensors for this demanding growth market and manufactures on behalf of renowned sensor and motor manufacturers. The temperature sensors used – also known as temperature probes, cable thermometers, or coiled-head sensors – serve for the reliable monitoring of electric motors and battery systems. Technically, they are high-precision sensor elements with cable extensions and special heat-shrink tubing insulation for increased electrical safety. The sensors are generally based on proven Pt100 or Pt1000 elements, which are implemented in 2-, 3-, or 4-wire configurations. Depending on the temperature and voltage resistance requirements, various highly insulating heat-shrink tubing options are used. Depending on the specifications, the sensors are insulated with single or multiple layers. Typically, the sensor elements are extended with stranded wires ranging from AWG 20 to AWG 28. The operating temperature range of the cable sensors with heat-shrink tubing insulation extends from -70 °C to +260 °C, thus covering a wide range of applications in electromobility.
